"The Korea Music Awards hosted by Cultural Action and Munhwa Daily announced its nominees for this year’s prizes. Seo Taiji, Bobby Kim, Ahn Chi-hwan, Lee Seung-cheol and Lee Jang-hyuk were nominated in the category of the male vocalist of the year for this year’s KMA. The nominees for the female vocalist of the year are Gummy, Kim Yoon-ah, Park Ki-young, BoA, Lee Sora and In Soon-yi. Marking its second year, the Korea Music Awards is an awarding ceremony for popular musicians evaluated by representatives from the press, civic groups, music critics, scholars and broadcast producers. Some of this year’s judges for the awards include Professor Kim Chang-nam of Sungkonghoe University, Professor Joo Cheol-hwan of Ewha Woman’s University, Producer Nam Tae-jeong of MBC Radio and Lee Dong-yeon, the head of Cultural and Social Research Institute of Cultural Action. The nominees for the song of the year category are Bobby Kim’s “The Dream of a Whale,” Lee Seung-cheol’s “A Long Day,” Jang Yoon-jeong’s “Oh, My!” and Cho PD’s“Dear My Friend.” The nominees for the album of the year category are No.3 Line Butterfly’s “Time Table,” My Aunt Mary’s “Just Pop,” Bobby Kim’s “Beats Within My Soul,” Lee Seung-cheol’s “The Living Day,” Clazziquai’s “Iinstant Pig” and Huckleberry Fin’s “Olympio’s Star.” The 2nd KMA awarding ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on March 23rd at the New Millennium Hall of Konku University." - KBS World Radio
